Do the Parents things wrong?

What if the parents do it wrong, but you make it better? Here are my thoughts on Rahul’s post: Our Parents Are Doing It All Wrong, And We’re Just Ignoring Them – WHY? WHY? WHY?

Are the Parents doing it wrong?

There was always a conflict between old and young. Today it may be even more difficult sometimes for young people to deal with their parents and traditional society. The world is changing fast, and the view of the youth is expanding. The internet makes it possible to connect to other nations, and a lot of information, which the older generation did not have, is changing their perspective and perception of how to live a better life. The young people are getting acquainted with a global community, different cultures, and traditions. Not all older people use the internet yet and are more into their established worldview. Change is, for many uncomfortable or even scary.

It is very easy to conform to what your society or parents and teachers tell you. That is a safe and easy way of existing, but that is not living…To live is to find out for yourself what is true… Jiddu Krishnamurti

If The Parents Do It Wrong An Opportunity To Make It Better

Why do Parents do it wrong

What was true for many not long ago is not acceptable anymore. Friendship with people of other nations widens the perception and causes new experiences. While older people hold on to the traditions, they are used to and grew up with, which may be more comfortable.

Not everybody is interested in exploring and learning new which may not be bad. They are the keeper of the traditions, but our youth wants to experience and grow, and many see their infinite possibilities in this new era. The elders may not hear the music as the youth do  🙂 Friedrich Nietzsche — And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.’

If Parents do it wrong, it is an opportunity.

Many have the same experiences as Rahul has and are unhappy with their parents and family. But what if we change our perceptions?
What if we see this also as a learning and growing opportunity? It has not always had to be about business, leadership, and making money. We also need to grow and learn about these things which affect our personal life on a daily basis. Is this not an amazing opportunity to grow and make it better?

If The Parents Do It Wrong An Opportunity To Make It Better

My family had a lot of changes in life as we had to go out and experience and deal with different traditions and societies.
I remember I was sitting every evening at our roundtable discussing things like this with our kids, and we still do sometimes.
My husband sometimes is not very happy about the roundtable, he does like to stay as much as possible with his traditions, but even he had to learn and adapt. This means it is possible at any age to change perception.

If Parents do it wrong, you learn and do better.

If The Parents Do It Wrong An Opportunity To Make It BetterWhat if more young people would try to talk openly about their views with the family? It needs to take responsibility for our lives. To be responsible not only for our own life but also for being inclusive. To begin with, we should do whatever we can to better understand each other, even if it is unpleasant.

Practice communicating lovingly and without blame and judgment, and it will work.
